Support Group Meetings/COVID-19 Policy

If you are concerned about safety, so are we. COVID-19 is a moving target as it mutates into new forms. Our group leaders adhere to the latest public health guidelines. In addition, since we have a vulnerable population, your board has adopted a policy of full vaccination as a requirement to attend our meetings.

Please note that in addition to full vaccination being required, your North County Parkinson's Support Group Board has also mandated that due to the rise of the Delta Variant and wanting to err on the side of caution, masks will also be required for participation in our chapter meetings and events.

So we will see you vaccinated and masked at our chapter support group meeting this August. Let's all be as safe as we possibly can.

Monthly meetings typically include an educational component and time for care providers and people with Parkinson’s to meet separately.  The groups are highly interactive and organize both social and educational events throughout the year.

Support Group meetings provide a forum for sharing strategies to cope with Parkinson’s, support research and clinical trials, and promote friendships to help one another on their Parkinson’s journey.

We live in an area rich in research and treatment innovation.  Speakers have included neurologists, physical therapists, research scientists, nutritionists, Medicare experts, neurosurgeons, paramedics, psychologists, emergency physicians, Parkinson’s humorists (yes!), pharmacology researchers, vocal therapists and singers -  to name just a few.
