If you are concerned about safety, so are we. COVID-19 is a moving target as it mutates into new forms. Our group leaders adhere to the latest public health guidelines. In addition, since we have a vulnerable population, your board has adopted a policy of full vaccination or natural immunity (recovered from infection) against COVID-19 as a requirement to attend our meetings. Masks are optional. Let's all be as safe as we possibly can.
Monthly meetings typically include an educational component and time for care providers and people with Parkinson’s to meet separately. The groups are highly interactive and organize both social and educational events throughout the year.
Support Group meetings provide a forum for sharing strategies to cope with Parkinson’s, support research and clinical trials, and promote friendships to help one another on their Parkinson’s journey.
We live in an area rich in research and treatment innovation. Speakers have included neurologists, physical therapists, research scientists, nutritionists, Medicare experts, neurosurgeons, paramedics, psychologists, emergency physicians, Parkinson’s humorists (yes!), pharmacology researchers, vocal therapists and singers - to name just a few.
